At the core of our work is project-based learning.  Instead of what you might have experienced in your education, Bulldog New Tech students engage in content through authentic and relevant projects.  Whether it being working with a local winery on soil composition, designing an interactive game exhibit for a museum, or creating documentaries about war veterans experiences, project-based learning creates an environment where the question, “why do we need to learn this?” goes away.

Students are engaged in their content through our school-wide learning outcomes.  These skills such as oral and written communication, collaboration, agency, and critical thinking are vital to success in any industry.  As well our students gain holistic learning experiences through school and community service, completing college credits, and an industry-based internship.

TEACHING THAT ENGAGES

Bulldog New Tech opened its doors with a 1:1 computer model. Currently, our "bring your own device" program means that we are not a device dependent school.  This allow us to focus on the role that technology can play to enhance rigorous learning experiences.

Whether through our learning management system, Echo, becoming proficient with products like Adobe Illustrator or InDesign, or developing new technologies through programming, virtual reality, or augmented reality, Bulldog New Tech students are able to develop a skillset that enables them to be thought leaders in the role of technology in today's world.

TECHNOLOGY THAT ENABLES

Students learn how to own their own learning and participate in what the school’s founders call “A Community of Trust.” Small teacher to student ratio and personal relationships with instructors create an environment in which students are empowered to be responsible for their own learning. It’s more like college, or even a workplace, than a middle school.

In addition, the atmosphere of trust, respect, and responsibility makes students feel comfortable being themselves and creates a unique sense of school ownership and community at Bulldog New Tech.

CULTURE THAT EMPOWERS

Bulldog New Tech has consistently focused on measuring outcomes that have a vast reach beyond the walls of the school.  Through our schoolwide learning outcomes, students are assessed on skills that will be valued in whatever higher education or industry field they choose to pursue.  Our current schoolwide learning outcomes are:

  • Knowledge & Thinking

  • Oral Communication

  • Collaboration

  • Written Communication

  • Agency
